Background
Before arriving to the OTD program at Â黨ÊÓƵ University, Dr. Erin Murray was a full-time faculty member in the MSOT/OTD programs at West Coast University (Los Angeles, CA) for the previous 5 years, where she taught Occupations and the Older Adult, Preparatory Methods I, Preparatory Methods II, and Foundations of Occupational Therapy. She was also the founding faculty advisor and mentor for the Peer-Assisted Learning Program (PAL). Prior to West Coast University, Dr. Murray taught, mentored, and served on committees within the OTA program at Grossmont College (San Diego, CA) for several years.
Professor Murray’s primary areas of interest include acute care, ICU, geriatrics, and hand therapy. Dr. Murray holds California advanced practice certifications in both hand therapy (HTC) and physical agent modalities (PAMs), and is a Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner (CKTP). Some of Dr. Murray’s current classes at WNE include Occupational Performance: Acute & Chronic Care OT, Anatomy and Kinesiology, and the Exam Preparation Class.
Professor Murray is actively involved within the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and is an item writer for the national certification exam. She also is a Certified Higher Education Professional (CHEP) in Teaching by the National Association of State Administrators and Supervisors of Private Schools (NASASPS).
