Background

Professor Atta is the Externship Program Director at WNEU Law and teaches Intro to the Legal Profession and the Judicial and Legal Practice Seminar. She previously taught Constitutional Law at the College of Arts and Sciences.  

Professor Atta is an experienced litigator and advocate with over a decade of trial experience. She has successfully argued before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court. Prior to joining the faculty at WNEU law, Professor Atta served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Energy and Environment Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office where she pursued cases, both civil and criminal, on behalf of the Commonwealth for violations of Massachusetts environmental laws and regulations, including the Clean Air Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, and the Motor Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Act. She also served on the Energy and Environment Bureau's Racial Justice Committee and is an active member of the Women's Bar Association's Legislative Policy Committee.
