Admissions Requirements and Deadlines

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new online OTD Distance Pathway beginning with our first cohort in fall 2024. Click through our web pages for more information. We are currently accepting applications for fall 2025.

Fall 2025 Application Deadlines 

Early Admission: December 1.
After December 1, we will continue to accept applications for admission on a rolling basis.

Regular Application deadline: Rolling. 
We expect to enroll our incoming class by May 2025. However, we will continue to review applications for both pathways beyond that date if necessary to enroll the most highly qualified students possible.

    Applied Program: Doctor of Occupational Therapy OR Doctor of Occupational Therapy Distance Learning Cohort
    You will be attending: Full-time
    Entry Term: Fall 2025 (PHARM/OTD)

  2. Apply through OTCAS

*We are excited to offer a limited number of coupon codes to applicants choosing to submit their application through OTCAS. WNE will cover the full cost of your application to our OTD program as coupons remain available. Reach out to admissions staff to request your coupon code at otdadmissions@wne.edu.

If you decide to submit your application through OTCAS, keep in mind that all transcripts, including your WNE transcript must be sent directly to OTCAS. The transcript verification process through OTCAS can take up to four weeks. Your application will not be considered complete until your status shows as “verified” in OTCAS.

Students will complete their Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree in less than 3 years in our 8-semester program. Students will attend 8 consecutive semesters during fall, spring, and summer. All students completing their Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree at WNE will experience the roles of a reflective practitioner, a transformative leader, and an innovative designer by designing and implementing a Doctoral Experiential (DEx) project.

Accreditation

In December 2019, the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) granted the WNE OTD Program accreditation for the maximum length of time through academic year 2026/2027, for having achieved full compliance with the academic standards.
