Student Senate

Become an Elected Representative!

Elections for most offices are held in the fall and spring of each year. The Student Senate serves as a liaison between students, faculty, and the administration of the University. In addition, the Senate appoints representatives to sit on joint committees of the University Senate in order to encourage cooperation and to foster joint decision making. The Senate has the responsibilities of budgeting and administering student activity fees in ways that will most benefit the University community, mostly through funding the 70+ clubs and organizations, Class Councils, and major events.

Freshman Council

Freshman Council is the perfect way to get involved at the University starting with your first days on campus. Freshman Council organizes activities for your graduating class and holds events open to all students. Council is designed to challenge and grow your leadership potential, allow for class unity, and become the catalyst for great friendships. The Freshman Council will plan programs, participate in community service, and allow the members to be leaders of the organization.

Sophomore Council

Sophomore Class Council is a group of about 25 members that work together to host fun social programs from the campus community. Council programming includes Golden Hours weekend on-campus programming, fundraising, and community service. They also work collaboratively with their advisor to connect members of the sophomore class with innovative, informative, and educational programs specifically designed for sophomores. Sophomore Council is a fun way for students to get involved, meet students, and gain valuable leadership experience.

Junior Council

Junior Class Council is a group with strong leadership traits that work together to host events on campus. Each semester, Junior Council hosts a Golden Hours on-campus weekend program and participates in a variety of other campus events as a team. At the end of the spring semester, planning starts for senior formal, senior week, and other graduation celebrations.

Senior Council

Senior Class Council is a group of about 25 students who have worked together for the last three years hosting Golden Hours on-campus weekend programs, doing community service, and fundraising for their senior events. Come senior year, they work diligently to plan the major senior social events such as graduation celebrations, Senior Formal, and Senior Week. They also work collaboratively with the other councils to host an all-council sponsored program in the spring semester. Everything they have learned and worked for on council has prepared them to put on some great programs for their class to wrap up their time at Â黨ÊÓƵ.

Campus Activities Board 2020

Campus Activities Board

You Create the Entertainment!

The Campus Activities Board is a standing committee of the Student Senate responsible for comedy programs, films, concerts, performing arts, recreation, and special traditional events. It is through this student organization that the majority of student programming originates. Particular emphasis is given to providing a full spectrum of programs encompassing both weekday and weekend schedules. Membership is open to any full-time student.
