The Emergency Response Plan is intended to establish policies, procedures and organizational structure for response to emergencies that are of sufficient magnitude to cause a significant disruption of the functioning of all or portions of the University. This plan describes the roles and responsibilities of departments, schools, units and personnel during emergency situations. The basic emergency procedures are designed to protect lives and property through effective use of University and community resources. Since an emergency may be sudden and without warning, these procedures are designed to be flexible in order to accommodate contingencies of various types and magnitudes.
EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS
Â黨ÊÓƵ University has a state-of-the-art notification system that is capable of sending emergency notifications and important messages about events at the University. The RAVE Alert is an EMERGENCY messaging system that allows you to receive notifications of school closure, delays, and security alerts to cell phones as text messages and to non-campus email accounts.
The system WILL NOT be used for general University announcements.
As part of the RAVE Mobile Safety services we've contracted with, we are now able to provide you with an app for your smartphone that will increase your safety options on campus.

For the purpose of educating our community regarding active shooter situations, Â黨ÊÓƵ University has approved a training video, "Shots Fired on Campus." These incidents represent the most serious situations that could occur on a college campus, including ours. The University's Administration and Emergency Response Team offer this training and corresponding quiz to help our community members understand what they could expect during such an incident and to demonstrate how each person should prepare in the event of an emergency on campus. .
