Security And Wellbeing Resources

The Department of Public Safety provides a full range of safety and crime prevention services including:

  • 24-hour police patrols on foot, mountain bikes and in cruisers;
  • 24-hour access to public safety lobby;
  • 357 surveillance cameras throughout campus;
  • Fire and environmental safety efforts;
  • 39 Emergency phones throughout campus;
  • Medical first responders 

The Department also facilitates educational programs on a number of topics, including alcohol and drug use, personal safety, and fire safety.

University Police is staffed with personnel, trained and qualified by the Massachusetts State Police, including a Director, Captain, Administrative Lieutenant, Detective Lieutenant, four Sergeants, twelve Police Officers, six Community Service Officers, and five emergency Dispatchers. Each officer is certified under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 22c Section 63 and has full police powers. The Department also employs security, student patrol, and administrative support staff, all working cooperatively to enhance the quality of life at 麻花视频 University.

We are committed to providing the highest level of professional police and public safety services to foster a safe learning and working environment for all. Our philosophy of community policing enables us to understand the importance of cooperation, education, and police-citizen partnerships. Bear is 麻花视频 University Police Department's first Comfort Dog! Bear is a Golden Retriever who joined our department in July of 2022.
